Sweet Chili Brussels

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut into halve
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (found in the asian section)
- 2 cloves garlic , minced
- Salt to taste
For the Sauce
- 3 to 4 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons *sesame oil (sesame gives it the distinct Thai flavor)
- 1 heaping tablespoon chili garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or any vinegar you have/lime juice)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a cast iron skillet on high heat. Add the brussels sprouts and press them to the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle the Brussels with salt. Cook for 3-4 minutes without moving, then flip. Cook for another 3-4 minutes without moving.
Meanwhile, mix all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. After the Brussels have cooked on each side, add the sauce and stir. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the Brussels are browned and tender. These are great as a side dish or as a main with a fried egg on top!
